Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS)

Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS)

The Oregon Revised Statutes are the codified laws of the State of Oregon. There are nineteen volumes, and they are generally organized by subject matter. The ORS volumes are published every two years. Each edition incorporates all laws, and changes to laws, enacted by the Oregon Legislative Assembly through the odd-numbered year regular session referenced in the volume titles for that edition.

Of the thousands of Oregon laws “on the books,” only a very small percentage of them concern firearms. Those that do are are codified in the Oregon Revised Statutes (mainly in volume 4).

For more information on the Oregon Revised Statues, see the ORS overview on the Oregon State Legislature website.
